Canadian Independent Music Awards

The Canadian Independent Music Awards were handed out in Toronto last night.

The show was plagued by "bad sound and regular microphone feedback", but perhaps this was to send the message that rock cannot be killed, not even by horrible sound problems!

Nominees were chosen by "juries comprised of no less than 10 professionals from the retail, recording and live sectors". Winners were chosen through votes from people in the industry as well as the public (through online voting).

Also during last night's ceremony, The Pursuit Of Happiness and The Parachute Club were inducted into the Indies Hall Of Fame.
