Ah, this is frustrating. There are a trio of posts I intended to write today. I wrote one-and-a-half of them, but can't actually put any of them on the website.
Posting via a combination of e-mail and Blogger will work but not with formatting... just tried to post a long mag-with-CD post and the formatting (including the links for downloading the songs) was a no-go, so I deleted it. Normal posting to resume when Blogger starts behaving itself. They had a few hours of downtime today for network maintenance (which went swimmingly, apparently). Hopefully, they're working ever-so-hard to fix things quickly.
They can't keep a good woman down, and they can't keep me down either! I shall return!

Well, Blogger-wise...

One of the Blogger databases is down that causes some blogs to be unaccessible and general slowness on the site. We are working on resolving the problem and apologize for the inconvenience.

Annoying, but good to know that Blogger's working on fixing the problem.
Other than that, it's all good...
When you try to post the 'normal' way does it wipe out your whole post?
Yes indeed, and it won't save changes to drafts other than changing the subject of the post. I was hoping it would be fixed by the morning... no such luck. I guess it's hit you too, idlingwildly... ugh.
Ack, new posts? You must be up and running. Still nothing functioning here.
I'm not entirely up-and-running... the only way I can post is to send them via e-mail (you can set up an e-mail address just for this. I don't know if Blogger in its messed-up state will let you do that now; I set one up eons ago). Still, Blogger won't publish the posts straight from e-mails right now. It saves them as drafts and then I can go into Blogger and publish them. I'm happy that the hyperlink formatting seems to more-or-less work okay, but I still haven't tried including pictures and that sort of thing... Since I can't edit posts I'm hesitant to experiment much with them! I hope we'll be able to post the regular way soon! The e-mailing thing will do in a pinch but it's definitely not my first choice.
I can't post from home today (11/9). I'll create a post and blogger will put it up blank - or I'll edit one and Blogger will "forget" the edit! It's f*cked!
I know! Off and on, I was unable to edit posts even before Blogger updated things on Saturday. I reuploaded some songs, and a couple times I could get the edits to "take", but mostly Blogger wouldn't let them through. I hope the problems can be fixed soon! It's a big pain.
I'm back to check in. Do you still have the same issues?
You wouldn't happen to be using the internet browser Safari, would you? Not all 'bloggers' are having problems, so... I'm now looking into any commonalities.
And why can't I find a place to report user problems?
In fact... I had a friend log in to my blog and post FOR ME, and it worked, no problems at all. They happen to be a Windows user (and I'm Mac).
I have a feeling the last update screwed up any Safari users.
I have a PC and mostly use Firefox.
This seems to provide a bit of info (like it does say only some blogs are impacted by the outage) but it would be nice if they updated it sometime! Here is where you can write to blogger but I think it's probably a matter of riding it out... but maybe I'm cynical and should be more proactive.
Oh, and Windows... yeah, I use Windows... sorry, I'm semi-coherent...
Hmmm... interesting. Thanks for the links. How is my friend able to post without problems if my blog is on the "problem" server?
:::::sigh:::::
I'm beginning to think my problem is something other than this server. Thanks again.
That's easy. Your friend is magical. Could your friend lend me just enough magical powers to be able to fix a typo I made in my last post? It's annoying to not be able to edit posts. Perhaps we should just be grateful Blogger is functioning in any minimal way. I haven't settled on any one state of mind about this. I'm considering "bitter and jaded" at this point, though.
